Early goose season hunt in Minnesota featured in "A Waterfowler's Journal", the new waterfowl dvd from Keller Outdoors. The last flock is some amazing footage of migrators dumping into the decoys from the heavens!
Early season goose hunting in NE Wisconsin. Chuck, Josh, Scott, and Nicki. Shot with GoPro HD strapped to the head of an Avery Prograde decoy with the vented helmet mount. Had to setup facing into the sun, worked great for the birds but not the best for video.
This hunt only took 40 minutes for our 2 man limit of 10 geese. The geese were working perfectly this morning and came right into our spread. I know our calling isn't the best but we are making progress. Hope you guys enjoyed the video. A big thanks to everyone at Michigansportsman who helped us out! Thanks for watching!

In snow goose hunting, scouting is very important. Couple it with being hidden and a little bit of luck and you have a recipe for success. We found a large concentration of snow geese using three different roost holes and traveling just a few miles to feed. We decided upon a field that had 10,000+ snow geese feeding in it. This barley field was located between the roosts and other feeding fields. We had the perfect snow goose hunting combination of the "X" field that was in a great flight line.
The 2011 Indiana early goose season was a bit of a struggle for us here at X Spot Outdoors. We were burning up the roads in search of waterfowl but weren't able to point any really great spots. We thought we had a couple of great fields to set up on, but found out there were within city limits and the law enforcement would absolutely not allow shooting in those zones. We ended up knocking down four honkers on the last day set up in a chiseled wheat field, but the film did not turn out so great. We only had two hunters and our camera man was unable to come out on the Thursday morning. But, we are hunters first and videographers second so we got the job done the best way we know how. Enjoy the show, and we look forward to bringing you more hard hitting waterfowl action when the October season opens here in Indiana!
On this hunt some of the boys From X Spot Outdoors head out into the field for an early morning Thanksgiving Day hunt. The birds have been scarce around Central Indiana and when they found this field with a couple hundred geese on it, they were excited. Only a few mallards worked the decoys, but the boys managed to pick off a few. The geese worked the decoys great and came in feet first just outside the decoys! Hope you enjoy the hunt! Good luck and be safe as the season continues!
